We will never forget

We will never forget 2023. This year, 75 years after the Nakba and 16 years into the Israeli military’s blockade of Gaza—and with the full support of the US—the Israeli government launched a genocide against Palestinians living in Gaza.

In horror and grief, we look back on the more than 21,000 Palestinians killed by the Israeli military. We resolve to never forget them.

A second Nakba began in 2023. And the world rose up in response, with thousands of people putting their bodies on the line, risking their jobs and their friendships to do everything they could to stop the Israeli genocide of Palestinians. And we resolve to make 2024 the year we go bigger and bolder until the Israeli government’s genocidal war on Palestinians ends. As we continue to demand a ceasefire and fight for a future where everyone is free and equal and safe, we refuse to forget the lives of those we lost who fought for the liberation of all people. We will always affirm that every life is precious.

Not in our names, not ever. We will never stop fighting for a free Palestine.

In the midst of this terror, the collective hope for Palestinian freedom is palpable. From the mass shutdowns of bridges, highways and train stations, to the occupation of government buildings and newspaper offices, to BDS victories and the launch of new boycotts, to the hundreds of thousands of calls to Congress, educational workshops, film screenings and artistic creations for a liberated future—all this and so much more contribute to this united steadfastness. As we enter 2024, we bring our collective power with us. We commit to standing with Palestinians in their resolute opposition to Israeli apartheid and oppression.
